Our History

We are an approachable, professional and friendly husband and wife team that can relate to the daily stresses and demands put on you and your baby and strongly emphasise family values in our modern society.

At FunkySlings we offer you high quality baby carriers made of the funkiest fabrics available. Even though we stock many of our slings they can also be made especially for you. You choose the design you like while being able to add optional extras such as pockets or padding.

FunkySlings was founded in 2006 when our beautiful baby daughter, suffering from reflux and colic, wanted to be carried and breastfed continuously during day and night and we struggled to find fashionable baby carriers that were not too thin, bulky, boring, complicated, cheap uncomfortable or expensive.  Not wanting to leave baby to cry but nevertheless needing some time for daily necessities such as food preparation or personal hygiene, we discovered Attachment Parenting and with it the wonders of the sling.

Regardless of your parenting style, your baby WILL benefit from the close physical contact that any FunkySlings product enables you to have and it will give you more freedom to go about your daily routine - hands free.  We honestly believe in our pouch slings, ring slings, mei tais and baby wraps.
